A argila expandida (também chamada de hydroton, LECA - Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate, ou bolas de argila) são pequenas bolas porosas feitas pela queima de argila em um forno rotativo. Elas são um meio de cultivo hidropônico inerte popular que fornece excelente drenagem, aeração e suporte físico para as raízes das plantas.
