Een nutriëntenblokkade treedt op wanneer planten niet in staat zijn om een of meer mineralen uit het groeimedium of de voedingsoplossing op te nemen, ondanks dat die nutriënten fysiek aanwezig zijn. Het wordt meestal veroorzaakt door een incorrecte pH, een te hoge EC, of antagonistische interacties tussen mineraalionen die de opname blokkeren.
