Een lichtcyclus (of fotoperiode schema) is de geprogrammeerde aan/uit-tijd van groeilampen in een indoor kweekomgeving, uitgedrukt in uren licht gevolgd door uren duisternis (bijv. 18/6 betekent 18 uur aan en 6 uur uit). Lichtcycli repliceren natuurlijke daglengtepatronen en worden gebruikt om het groeistadium van planten te beheersen - vegetatieve groei wordt gehandhaafd onder lange dagen, terwijl veel bloeiende planten worden getriggerd tot reproductieve groei door kortere dagen.
