La arcilla expandida (también llamada hydroton, LECA - Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate, o bolas de arcilla) son pequeñas bolas porosas hechas al cocer arcilla en un horno rotatorio. Son un medio de cultivo hidropónico inerte popular que proporciona un excelente drenaje, aireación y soporte físico para las raíces de las plantas.
