What is EC and why does it matter?

EC (Electrical Conductivity) measures the total dissolved nutrient concentration in your solution. Too low and plants starve; too high and roots are burned by osmotic stress. Most leafy greens thrive at 1.2–2.0 mS/cm, fruiting crops at 2.0–3.5 mS/cm.

Why do 3-part nutrients use separate Part A, B, and C?

Calcium and sulphate react and precipitate if mixed in concentrated form, so they are kept separate until diluted in the reservoir. Always add each part separately to the water in order: Part A first, stir, then B, then C — never mix concentrates directly.

Why should I adjust pH after mixing nutrients?

Adding nutrients changes the solution's pH — sometimes significantly. Always mix all nutrient parts first, then check EC, and only then adjust pH to your target range (typically 5.8–6.5 for most crops). Adjusting before nutrients are added is wasted effort.
