Use pH Down (phosphoric or citric acid) when your water is too alkaline — common with tap water above pH 7.5. Use pH Up (potassium hydroxide) when your water is too acidic. Most growers in India need pH Down since municipal tap water tends to be alkaline.

How often should I recheck pH after adjusting?

Always wait at least 15 minutes after adding pH product and mixing thoroughly, then retest. pH can drift over 24–48 hours as nutrients react, so check daily in a new reservoir and every 2–3 days on established systems. A cheap digital pH pen pays for itself quickly.
